Breaking into Publishing: Join us as a Social Media Intern at Dawn Hill

If you’ve ever dreamed of working in publishing or social media but weren’t sure where to start, this could be your chance. We’re looking for a creative, book-loving Social Media Intern to help us connect with readers in fresh and exciting ways. This paid, part-time internship is designed to give you real, hands-on experience in the industry—whether you’re crafting content, brainstorming campaigns, or engaging with our growing community.

Social Media Intern (Three Month Fixed-Term Contract)
Location: Remote
Reports to: Marketing Manager
Hours: Part time up to 18 hours/week

Love books? Love social media? This is your chance to combine the two and get real, hands-on experience in the publishing world.

For three months, you’ll be part of a small, passionate team at Dawn Hill Publications, helping to shape how we connect with readers online. From brainstorming creative campaigns to designing eye-catching content and engaging with our community, you’ll play an active role in growing our presence on Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook.

Whether you’re looking to break into publishing, social media marketing, or content creation, you’ll leave with practical experience, industry insight, and a portfolio of work to show for it.

Publishing should be for everyone, but we know that some voices have been historically underrepresented in this industry. At Dawn Hill Publications, we’re committed to making publishing more inclusive, and we’re especially keen to hear from applicants from backgrounds that have been traditionally overlooked.

Sound like the perfect fit? We’d love to hear from you.

What You’ll Be Doing

We’re looking for someone who loves books and social media to help us connect with readers in creative and meaningful ways. As our Social Media Intern, you’ll be right in the middle of everything, coming up with fun content ideas, designing posts and videos, and helping to grow our community across Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook.

You’ll have the chance to experiment with different types of content, spot trends, and bring fresh ideas to the table. Whether it’s brainstorming a campaign to get people talking about a new release, chatting with readers in the comments, or reaching out to influencers and book bloggers, you’ll play an important role in shaping how we share our books with the world.

This is a hands-on opportunity to see how publishing and digital marketing come together. You’ll get to build real skills, work on live projects, and be part of a team that values creativity and collaboration. If you’re excited about books, storytelling, and social media, we’d love to have you on board.

Pay & Working Hours

This is a paid internship at the National Minimum Wage, and applicants must have the right to work in the UK. Working hours will be discussed at the interview and agreed based on your availability, but the role requires you to work on weekdays (Monday to Friday).
